Yes, we currently have openings in our practice. Space is limited, however, in order to provide personalized care to each patient. Once the practice reaches capacity, families will be placed on a wait-list and notified when a spot becomes available.
Our practice does not directly participate in any insurance plans. Health insurance is used by our practice to cover the expensive items such as immunizations, prescriptions, lab work and radiology, subspecialty consults, hospitalizations, etc. We collect insurance information during onboarding in to our practice for this purpose, but we do not bill insurance for your membership. Your membership is HSA eligible.
The first step is to schedule a complimentary meet and greet with Dr. Bear. This will provide an opportunity for both parties to determine if they will be a good fit for each other.
For a limited time, we are offering one time visits for non-members. This includes the all-important and difficult to schedule school and sports physicals! Please call or message our office for one time appointment availability. Once our patient panel is full, we will discontinue this service.
Membership fees cover unlimited visits, ,including all well visits, sports physicals, sick visits, ADHD evaluation and checks, developmental and behavioral screening, routine lab evaluations, vaccinations, and telemedicine.
Your membership does not cover any out of office procedures. This includes outpatient labs or imaging, medical services from other medical providers such as emergency or specialist visits, and inpatient hospitalizations. These services will be billed to your insurance by the those providers.
Membership fees are charged to your bank account or credit card.
By offering quick and easy access to your child’s personal physician, the need to seek outside care for routine matters is essentially eliminated. We have the capability and time to perform simple procedures in office. We save emergency room visits for just that – emergencies!

Yes. A membership with Bear Care Pediatrics is not a substitute for health insurance. Health insurance is still needed to cover for emergencies, hospitalizations, etc. If you choose to join our practice you may, however, benefit from choosing a different insurance plan. Please consult with a financial advisor or a representative from your insurance company to guide your plan choice.
Absolutely! We believe in the power of preventive medicine, and vaccines are an integral piece of prevention. We offer vaccines to our patients through a third-party vendor. Vaccines are covered by your health insurance generally at no cost to the patient.
As a parent, Dr. Bear is well aware that not every emergency happens during daytime hours, and she is available to help guide you through just such situations. Each member is provided with an after-hours emergency phone number to reach the doctor directly
Because the practice size is limited, Dr. Bear personally knows your child and their complete medical history. If appropriate, long distance care, such as virtual visits and calling in of prescriptions can be utilized.
From time to time, Dr. Bear might want to take a vacation or block off some time to spend with her family! Never fear, Dr. Bear has a number of excellent and like-minded board-certified local pediatricians who are available to cover for her in the event that she is not available.
We offer online scheduling through our portal for members. If you don’t see a time that works for you, you can easily text or call Dr. Bear directly. Generally speaking we offer excellent availability and most often are able to accommodate busy schedules.
Even if you only visit the doctor a few times a year for physicals or occasional illness, direct care is an upgraded healthcare experience. You will receive a higher level of care, with no waiting, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere, by your child’s personal physician. Unlike many local practices, we are always available when the unexpected happens.
ADOS-2 testing is not included in the membership, however we do offer a member discount for this service.
